Initially, a list of 92 interested Bangladeshi nationals was prepared and provided to the Pakistani government for this repatriation process. Efforts are currently underway to bring the first batch of 28 Bangladeshi citizens back to Dhaka.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that among these 28 individuals, priority will be given to the sick, women, children, and those who traveled to Iran for medical treatment. For now, the Bangladeshi Embassy in Tehran will gather those interested in returning home.

The list of 92 Bangladeshis interested in returning from Tehran has been handed over to the Pakistani government. These individuals will enter Pakistan via the Iranian land border. From there, they will be repatriated to Dhaka via Karachi or a nearby airport in Pakistan, with a layover in Dubai.

Meanwhile, Bangladeshi students currently residing in Tehran are not expressing an immediate desire to return home. Approximately 200 Bangladeshi students are studying in various educational institutions across Iran, with about 10 to 12 of them in Tehran. While they were initially keen to return at the onset of the conflict, they are now expressing a different sentiment, preferring to observe the situation further.

In this regard, a Ministry of Foreign Affairs official explained that while the students initially showed interest, they now perceive their universities as safe, prompting them to take a bit more time. This is because returning home could make it difficult to go back, even if the situation normalizes later.
