BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has called on new voters to cast their first ballots for the Dhaner Shish. "Let the youth's first vote be for the paddy sheaf," Rahman said, addressing a student rally in Shahbagh on Sunday (August 3). He urged everyone, particularly the four crore new voters across the country, to spread this message.
Rahman instructed the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal (JCD) leaders and activists present at the rally to disseminate his message nationwide.
"Students have regained their lost right to vote in the upcoming national election. I have one appeal to all students and the youth of the country: 'Let the youth's first vote be for the paddy sheaf.' Spread this call throughout the country. Spread my appeal to the future generation and new voters. Let today's pledge be: 'The youth's first vote, for the paddy sheaf,'" he stated.
He also called on the youth to prepare themselves to build a future Bangladesh.
Rahman criticized the previous "fascist government" for allegedly destroying the country's education system. He promised that if the BNP comes to power through a public mandate, it will reform the education system, create jobs, and focus on e-commerce. He added that an incoming BNP government would prioritize ICT and technical education and integrate sports and arts into the educational curriculum.
He concluded his address by telling JCD activists that the people would support them if they moved forward with courage and honesty.
