BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has stated that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is committed to the development of the nation and its citizens. He emphasized that the party possesses the necessary experience to curb corruption effectively.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a rally held on Sunday (January 25) at 11:00 PM at the Digbaji Field in Soyagazi, Cumilla.
Focus on People’s Welfare
Tarique Rahman said, "Our goal and objective are the development of the people and the transformation of their fortunes."
Reflecting on history, he noted that while freedom fighters liberated the country in 1971, the people had to sacrifice their lives again in 2024 to protect that independence. He stated that 419 members of the BNP were among those martyred, alongside thousands of others. "The July warriors have protected our independence," he added.
Proven Track Record
Highlighting the party's previous achievements, the BNP Chairman mentioned:
- Education: Implementing free education for women.
- Agriculture: Waiving loans for numerous farmers.
- Employment: Creating job opportunities for students and the youth.
"BNP believes in the development of the country and its people. We have the experience to rein in corruption and we will move forward according to our plans to improve the fate of the people," he asserted.
Positive Politics
Tarique Rahman further clarified the party's stance on political discourse, stating, "We do not wish to criticize other political parties. We want to talk about the development of the people. We are presenting our plans for development to the public."
The rally featured speeches from several prominent leaders, including Monirul Haque Chowdhury (BNP-nominated candidate for Cumilla-6), Zakaria Taher Sumon (President of Cumilla South District BNP), and various central and local leaders of the party and its wings.
