Another 40 members of Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) have taken shelter in Bangladesh through two points of Teknaf border in Cox's Bazar.
14 BGP members entered through Acharbunia border point and 26 BGP members took shelter in Bangladesh through Nazirpara border on Saturday morning (May 4).
According to reliable sources, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) disarmed the BGP members who took shelter in two phases on Saturday morning (May 4). The first 14 of them were kept in Hnila High School by bus. Later, 22 more people were kept in the same place. The BGB is working to disarm the remaining 4.
However, there was no official statement from the BGB in this regard.
Earlier, Bangladesh sent back 288 Myanmar Border Guard Police and army personnel who took shelter in Bangladesh amid the ongoing conflict between the Myanmar security forces and the rebel Arakan Army in the Rakhine state.
