17 Forest Workers Abducted from Hill in Teknaf

A total of 17 forest workers have been abducted reportedly by miscreants from the hills in the Jadimura area of Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.

The incident occurred on Monday morning (December 30) to the west of Teknaf's Jadimura area.

The matter has been confirmed by Teknaf Upazila Executive Officer Sheikh Ehsan Uddin.

The abducted individuals are: Ayub Khan (18), Ayub Ali (50), Ansar Ullah (18), Ayat Ullah (22), Shamchu (45), Islam (21), Shamchu (40), Ismail (35), Mohammad Hasim (40), Nur Mohammad (21), Syed Amin (30), Safi Ullah (30), Ayub (50), Mahata Amin (18), Saiful Islam (22), Syed (50), and Rafique (33).

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Model Police Station, Gias Uddin, said, "Efforts are underway to rescue the abducted forest department workers. Police and other law enforcement agencies have reached the spot. We are actively addressing the matter."

Teknaf Upazila Executive Officer Sheikh Ehsan Uddin added, “The forest department workers went to the hills in the morning for work under the department's supervision. During this time, we received news that some individuals had taken them away. Law enforcement agencies are working to rescue them.”
