Businessman Ali Hossain (40), son of Fazr Rahman from Jaliapara, Teknaf, bought the fish. Although the demand for Hilsa has increased on the occasion of Boishakh, the price is beyond the reach of ordinary buyers. Many customers returned from the market without buying Hilsa after hearing the price.

Businessman Ali Hossain said that he hopes to sell the fish for 7,000 taka with a small profit.

Senior Teknaf Upazila Fisheries Officer Mohammad Delwar Hossain told the media that fish of this size are mainly found in the deep sea. The depth of the Naf River is decreasing due to silt. Therefore, more fish will be caught if the estuary is dredged.
