BMD warns of heavy rains, landslides

Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been reported across the country in the last few days, which may continue for the next few days. In this situation, landslides may occur in some parts of the Chittagong hill tracts areas.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in six divisions including Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Sylhet, Barishal and Chattogram divisions. There may be heavy to very heavy rains in the next 72 hours from 4 pm on today (June 30).

This information has been given in the warning of heavy rain on Sunday (June 30).

Landslides may occur at places over the hilly areas of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions due to heavy rainfall.

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra advised to hoist local cautionary signal 3 . All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
