BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is in better health and is expected to return to Bangladesh soon, according to her advisor and UK BNP President, MA Malek.

Speaking after a prayer gathering held on Monday (January 27) at the Brick Lane Mosque in East London, marking the death anniversary of Arafat Rahman Koko, Malek shared this update.

"Khaleda Zia is doing much better. She is happy and cheerful at home. On Sunday, we had dinner together with our leader Tarique Rahman. I feel she has recovered about 60%," Malek said.

He added, "Two British-Bangladeshi medical teams are treating her. She’s receiving better care at home than in the hospital. On Sunday, I saw Dr. Zubaida Rahman feeding her while Tarique Rahman was sitting by her side."

The UK BNP President further mentioned that Khaleda Zia is spending quality time with her daughters-in-law. "Being at home means she’s better than before. She will return to the country soon. The people of Bangladesh are eager to see her."

It is worth noting that Khaleda Zia has been suffering from multiple health complications, including liver cirrhosis, kidney issues, heart problems, diabetes, and arthritis. She was admitted to a London clinic on January 8 for advanced treatment. After 17 days of care, she was discharged and is now staying at Tarique Rahman’s residence in London.
