The National Citizens Party, a new youth-led political party initiated by the Jatiya Nagorik Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, is set to be officially launched tomorrow, Friday.
Nahid Islam has been appointed as the party's convenor, while Akhtar Hossain has been confirmed as the member secretary. Additionally, Hasnat Abdullah will serve as the chief organiser for the southern region, Sarjis Alam for the northern region, and Nasiruddin Patwari as the chief coordinator.
These decisions were made during a joint meeting of the Jatiyo Nagorik Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, held at the Jatiya Nagorik Committee's central office in Banglamotor, Dhaka, on Thursday. Leaders from the committee confirmed the party name and finalised key leadership roles.
However, leadership for the positions of senior joint convenor and senior joint secretary remains undecided due to multiple candidates vying for the roles.
The official launch of the National Citizens Party will take place tomorrow afternoon at an event on Manik Mia Avenue in the capital, where the names of individuals selected for top positions will be announced.
