Information Advisor Mahfuz Alam has stated that the country is currently experiencing a war-like situation, emphasizing the need for unity to resist this conflict.
In a verified Facebook post early Tuesday (March 11) titled "A Proxy War is Being Waged Against the People's Uprising," he made these remarks.
Mahfuz Alam wrote that in a review meeting chaired by the Chief Advisor yesterday, discussions were held on taking measures to prevent violence against women and children, adopting a firm stance against banned organizations, and improving overall law and order.
"We stated in a press conference that the government will take a strict stance. Since yesterday, arrests of criminals have been ongoing, and the government is actively ensuring swift and fair trials."
He further mentioned that the issue of creating hundreds of thousands of jobs for students and youth, as well as launching a national program for young people, was raised in the discussion. "Visible steps will be taken on this matter soon.
The government will maintain a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and extremism, and coordinated efforts toward this goal have already begun."
The Information Advisor added that the government is actively working on controlling commodity prices, arresting and prosecuting criminals, strengthening institutions, and taking positive initiatives for the martyrs and injured from the July events.
However, conflicts within the military and civil bureaucracy, business class, and media—alongside the growing unity of forces opposing the people’s uprising—are putting the government in a difficult position.
"The government is fighting a war against a powerful domestic and international alliance that was defeated in the people's uprising.
Meanwhile, self-interested groups are working to dismantle the unity within the people's movement—and they are succeeding. It is in our best interest to prevent direct confrontations between the military, political parties, and different factions of the uprising."
Mahfuz Alam stated, "We must remember that the country is now in a war-like situation, and this war has been imposed upon us from elsewhere. A control room is overseeing and directing its weekly and daily strategies. We must unite to resist this war."
"Key issues such as state reform, justice for genocide and plunder, revitalization of institutions, and democratic transformation are slipping away from our focus.
The opportunity and capacity to rebuild this nation have emerged under this government, which is why there is a rush from foreign powers to dictate a regime change. However, elections will be held on time, and before the elections, there will be visible progress in state reform based on the July Charter. Murderers, rapists, and looters will be brought to justice."
