India beat England by 68 runs, storm into T20 WC Final

India had to wait for 10 years after the T20 World Cup held in Bangladesh in 2014. Finally, India reached the final for the third time. India beat England by 64 runs in the second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup.

The match held at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on (June 27).

India secured their place the final match and they will face South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup final on June 29 at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown.

On Thursday (June 27), it was known that rain could interrupt the England-India match. India batted first and gave England a target of 172 runs. In reply, England were all out for 103 runs with 21 balls to spare. The defending champions lost by 68 runs.

Rohit Sharma picked up a fifty off 36 balls.Virat Kohli failed in this match also as he scored just 9 runs off 9 balls. The 35-year-old batter has scored just 75 runs in the whole tournament. Kohli has scored just 75 runs till now with the highest score of 37 runs against Bangladeshwith a strike-rate of 100.00.

India scored 171 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 17 off 9 balls. Chris Jordan got a hat-trick chance when Shivam was caught by the golden duck. In the end, India lost a little bit but easily crossed the 150-run mark.

Two English openers Jos Buttler and Phil Salt made a great start to chase the challenging target. However, Butler could not make the innings bigger. The right-handed batsman was caught out after scoring 23 runs off 15 balls. Salt returned after scoring 5 runs off 8 balls.

In the end, as the current champion England could not perform well, they left the World Cup with a defeat. England were bowled out for 103 and India won by 68 runs.
