Former Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hassan Papon's dream project was the Sheikh Hasina International Cricket Stadium in Purbachal.

However, due to the change in political reality, Papon lost the post of BCB president. Along with this, the tender of Sheikh Hasina Stadium has been canceled.

New BCB president Faruque Ahmed confirmed this information at a press conference in Mirpur on Thursday (August 29). He said, today (Friday) was the last date for the bidding process of the stadium. We canceled it.

2031 World Cup will be held in Bangladesh. BCB has also committed to ICC to expand the stadium for this tournament. In addition, the field is now essential. In this situation, there will be no more field? Faruque Ahmed was asked about this.

In reply, he said, if our situation improves, we will reconsider and see if anything can be done.

BCB has already spent a lot of money to make the stadium in Purbachal. This money has been spent on other works including design. The BCB president was asked whether it is possible to bring them back now.

He said, we are going to see how much money will be spent on the field, we are trying to get the money as much as the money has been spent, we are trying (to minimize the damage).
