Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed has been accused of embezzling fake passports. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is interrogating four directors, a deputy director and two ndeputy assistant directors of the passport department for their alleged involvement in the scam. At the same time, the ACC has found seven passports of Benazir Ahmed.
According to ACC sources, some of the seven passport numbers of Benazir are E0017616, AA1073252, BC0111070, BM0828141 and 800002095. I also have two other passports.
On Tuesday (June 25) at 11:30 am, A team led by ACC Deputy Director, Anwar Hossain, interrogated eight officials of the passport department on charges of passport forgery at the head office of the agency.
The allegation against Benazir is that the former IGP of police, accused of corruption, made a normal passport in the identity of a private employee. He has also resorted to unprecedented fraud in making passports. But the passport department withheld Benazir's passport when it was caught during the renewal. The letter was sent to RAB headquarters. But the former IGP made all the arrangements using illegal influence, took special benefits.
It is learned that since the beginning of his career, he has not made a blue official passport as a government employee. Despite the opportunity, he did not made a red passport.
