The entire country has become vocal in demanding reform of the quota system in the recruitment of government jobs. The general students have been protesting for a week and a half since the High Court declared the government's circular canceling all quotas in 2018 illegal. As part of the movement, they blocked the important roads of the country including the capital for the last few days and carried out the 'Bangla Blockade' program. This movement has been given a new color by a comment made by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after returning from China. The quota protestants claim that the prime minister insulted the quota activists in his response. And with this, the students of different universities of the country spent a whole night in protest. The campuses were a buzz with the slogans of the students opposing the quota system, which added an extra dimension to the counter-slogans of the BCL.

Most of the students at the protest said they were insulted and belittled for speaking out against the unfair quota system. No one has the right to insult students. They took to the streets to protest this humiliation.

On Sunday (July 14) after 11:15 pm, the biggest protest took place in the Dhaka University campus. The students took a procession from different halls of the university and gathered at the foot of the anti-terror Raju sculpture of the university. At this time they started chanting different slogans like 'Tumi ke ami ke- Razakar Razakar', 'Ei Banglar mati- Razaker ghati'. While taking out the procession, the students were blocked by BCL leaders and aspirants in some halls. But they were forced to retreat due to student protests.

However, when the anti-quota agitators returned to the hall at around 1 am, the Chhatra League came out with processions from various halls. Meanwhile, they came to Madhur Canteen with a procession and started shouting slogans. During this time, they started chanting slogans like 'Tumi Ke Ami Ke, Bangali Bangali', 'Achis Joto Razakar, Ei Muhurte Bangla Char' etc.

Meanwhile, expressing solidarity with the angry students, four leaders of the DU branch announced their resignations on Facebook. After some time, however, Ratul Ahmed Shrabon withdrew from the decision to resign and made another post.

Quota activists of Chittagong University also took out a protest march that night. Thousands of students came out to march from different halls and gathered at the zero point of the university. At this time various slogans such as 'Chailam Adhikar, Hoilam Razakar', 'Tumi Ke, Ami Ke-Razakar, Razakar' are heard in the voices of the angry students.

Another big protest took place in Rajshahi University. Around 12:15 am, some students suddenly started protesting from Syed Ameer Ali Hall of the University. Immediately hundreds of students joined the procession from different halls. They started gathering in front of Joha Chatwar of the university. After that they toured the entire campus. Later, angry students blocked the Dhaka-Rajshahi road near Rabi's main gate.

National flags can be seen in the hands of many of the protestors. The entire Rajshahi campus was resounding with the slogans of 'Chatro Somaj Jegeche', 'Tumi Ke Ami Ke- Rajakar Razakar'.

In the middle of the night, Jahangirnagar University became agitated with processions and slogans. Motivated by the slogan 'Tumi Ke Ami Ke- Razakar, Razakar' spread on Facebook, the Jabi quota opponents decided to hold a protest program in their own campus as well. It was also alleged that Chhatra League detained two students and harassed them after receiving the news. Later, angry students rescued them.

Jagannath University students protested in front of the main gate of the campus around 11:40 pm. The procession then proceeded to Tatibazar via Shakaribazar. The university administration discouraged girls from going to the movement by locking the student halls. However, the students broke the lock of the gate and participated in the protest march.

Around 12:30 pm, the students of Sher-E-Bangla Agricultural University came out from different halls of the campus. Along with the quota activists of other universities of the country, they also raised the campus with various slogans. The angry students said that the Prime Minister of a country can never call the students of that country the children of Razakar. In protest of his words, students have taken to the streets even at night.

On the other hand, a group of Chhatra League activists gathered at the second gate of the university and chanted slogans like 'There is no place for Razakars in Bangabandhu's Bengal', 'Ek Ekta Razakar Dhor, Dhore Dhore Jobai Kor', 'Dhori Dhori Dhori Na, Dhorle Mora Chari Na'. When they entered the Lutfar hall and shouted slogans, the resident students of the hall kept saying 'Vua, Vua'.

Another protest took place at the Islamic University of Kushtia at midnight. The students gathered at the Zia intersection of the campus and started a protest march. The procession circumambulated the various roads of the campus. Hundreds of students from various halls and side messes of the university and participated in it.

However, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said in a Press Conference, 'Why is there so much anger against the great liberation war and the brave freedom fighters?' The grandchildren of freedom fighters will not get quota, then will Razakar's grandchildren get quota? We cannot allow that to happen.' The Prime Minister's statement has created anger in the minds of the quota activists.
