The entire country is at a standstill in the violence and non-cooperation movement surrounding the anti-quota movement. In such a situation, the government has issued an indefinite curfew from 6 pm today.

Sharif Mahmud Apu, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, confirmed the matter in a press release on Sunday (August 4).

It has been said that a curfew has been enforced in all departmental headquarters, city corporation, municipality, industrial area, district headquarters, and upazila headquarters including Dhaka metropolis from 6 pm today until further notice.

The government imposed a curfew on July 19 regarding the quota reform movement. Then it is relaxed in different districts step by step.

Last Saturday (August 3) the government's resignation was announced from the protest rally of the quota protesters at the central Shaheed Minar. At the same time, the agitators announced the non-cooperation movement across the country from today.
