Ahsan H Mansur, Economist and private research institute Policy Research Institute (PRI) executive director. The government has decided to make him the new Governor of Bangladesh Bank. He will replece Abdur Rouf Talukder.
This information was confirmed to media by Ministry of Finance on Tuesday (August 13).
It has been proposed to remove the age limit for Bangladesh Bank Governor. Earlier, the maximum age limit was 67 years.
A high-level source in Financial Institutions Department confirmed that the proposal to remove the age limit for Bangladesh Bank Governor will be discussed in today's advisory council meeting.
Ahsan H Mansur is currently serving as the Executive Director of PRI. Apart from this, he is also serving as the chairman of BRAC Bank.
