Former Social Welfare Minister Dr Dipu Moni was arrested by a team of intelligence department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

She was arrested from Baridhara DOHS area on Monday (August 19) evening.
A senior officer of the DB who was in the operation to arrest Dr Dipu Moni confirmed this information to the media around 7 o'clock in the evening.

He said, now Dipu Moni will be taken to the DB office at Minto Road.
According to DMP sources, Dipu Moni has been arrested in a case filed in Chandpur. There are more cases against her.
In 2008, Dipu Moni was elected Member of Parliament for Chandpur-3 Constituency. She was the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh from 2009 to 2013. From 2019 until the beginning of this year, she was the Minister of Education.
