What is Known about Opening School on Saturday in 2025
Recently, a claim went viral on social media suggesting that schools will remain open on Saturdays starting in 2025. However, this information is false.
On Saturday, December 7, the Ministry of Education and the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) confirmed that no such decision has been made.
Siraj-Ud-Doula Khan, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Education, stated, "No decision has been taken to keep schools open on Saturday. If any new decision is made, it will be announced later. We urge everyone not to believe rumors."
Durga Rani Sikder, Assistant Director of DSHE's Secondary Division, said, "Currently, schools have weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday. That arrangement remains in place. To my knowledge, no decision has been made to keep schools open on Saturday starting next year. As of last Thursday, there has been no such directive."
Teachers expressed their frustration over the rumor, emphasizing the importance of maintaining two weekly holidays. They argued that if government offices have a two-day weekend, schools should also follow the same schedule.
