Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to launch the nationwide distribution of the 'Krishak Card (Farmer Card)' from Tangail on April 14, coinciding with Pahela Baishakh.

The inaugural ceremony will take place at the Shaheed Maruf Stadium, marking a significant milestone in the government's efforts to modernize and support the agricultural sector.

Fisheries and Livestock State Minister Sultan Salahuddin Tuku announced the details this afternoon after inspecting the event venue.

Accompanied by Agriculture Secretary Rafiqul E Mohammad and other senior officials, Tuku reviewed the logistical preparations and provided directives to ensure the program’s success.

"The inauguration of the Krishak Card from Tangail is a matter of immense pride for our people," Tuku told journalists.

He described the card as a "groundbreaking initiative" designed to streamline benefits, subsidies, and technical support directly to the country's farmers, ensuring greater transparency and development in the rural economy.

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will personally hand over the digital cards to 15 selected farmers to formally kick off the distribution process.

Following the site visit, a high-level preparatory meeting was held at the Tangail Deputy Commissioner’s office, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque.

State Minister Tuku instructed all departments to execute their responsibilities with the utmost dedication to accommodate the Prime Minister and the thousands of farmers expected to attend.
