Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Germany Muhammad Zulqar Nain has called on global design and interior decor giants to forge institutional partnerships with Bangladeshi counterparts following the successful display of the nation’s creative talent at the Ambiente and Heimtextil 2026 fairs in Frankfurt.

During his visit to the world-renowned interior decor and home textile exhibitions, the Ambassador highlighted a significant evolution in Bangladesh’s design landscape. 

He noted that young Bangladeshi designers are increasingly adept at navigating cross-cultural aesthetics, seasonal color variations, and international market patterns, ensuring consistent client satisfaction in the competitive global market.

Ambassador Zulqar Nain engaged in high-level discussions with leading design companies from Europe and the USA, conveying the "spectacular performance" of Bangladeshi designers.

He encouraged these international firms to establish a physical presence in Bangladesh, assuring them of full diplomatic and logistical cooperation should they decide to open branch or liaison offices in the country.

The Ambassador identified several key industry players across various sectors for potential collaboration, including:

Wall Decoration: Erfurt & Sohn KG (DE), Komar Products (DE), KT Exclusive (DE), Marburger Tapetenfabrik (DE), The Wallfashion House (BE), Wallquest (USA), UGEPA (FR) and York Wallcoverings (USA).

Window & Interior Decoration: IFI Aebe (GR), Forest Group (NL), Hohmann (DE), JBY Creation (FR), Linder (FR), Sarlas (GR), Tanriverdi Mensucat (TR) and Textil Casa Moda (ES).

DecoTeam Collaborators: Alfred Apelt (DE), Erfal (DE), and Fachhandelsring (DE).

The initiative marks a proactive step by the Bangladesh Embassy in Berlin to move beyond traditional garment exports and promote Bangladesh as a high-value hub for interior design and home decor. 

The Ambassador emphasized that the combination of "young talent and experienced expertise" makes Bangladesh a formidable partner for global brands seeking innovative and sustainable design solutions.

The Embassy's push for institutional partnerships is expected to create new avenues for Bangladeshi designers to showcase their work on international platforms while facilitating knowledge transfer and technology exchange between Bangladesh and the global decor industry.
