Over a 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Tuesday, four additional children passed away after displaying symptoms consistent with measles, pushing Bangladesh's overall toll of confirmed and suspected measles fatalities to 797.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) designated all four recent deaths as suspected measles cases.
With these latest casualties, the national tally of suspected measles deaths rose to 702, while the count of laboratory-confirmed fatalities remained unchanged at 95.
Health officials also identified 878 new suspected measles cases during the same timeframe, raising the nationwide cumulative total of suspected infections to 119,448.
In addition, 130 newly confirmed measles cases were registered, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases across the country to 14,708.
According to figures from the DGHS, a total of 102,244 individuals showing symptoms of measles have required hospitalization nationwide since March 15. Of those admitted, 98,411 patients have successfully recovered.
