BGB-BSF Meeting in Delhi Today

The 55th Director General (DG)-level border conference, spanning four days, is set to commence on Tuesday (February 18) at the BSF headquarters in New Delhi.

BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary is leading the Indian delegation, while Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, BGB's Director General, is heading the Bangladeshi delegation.

A 13-member team from Bangladesh, including senior officials from BGB, the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Land Survey Department, and the Joint Rivers Commission, is participating in the talks. Similarly, the Indian delegation, also consisting of 13 members, includes senior BSF officials along with representatives from India’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs.

This marks the first high-level border meeting between the two nations since the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government stepped down in August 2024, making it particularly significant for both security forces.

The last edition of this biannual meeting took place in March 2023 in Dhaka.

  • Tripura: 856 km
  • Meghalaya: 443 km
