In preparation for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, the interim government has declared a 10-day public holiday. The decision was finalised during a meeting of the advisory council held today (May 06) at the Secretariat.
Chief Adviser's Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, shared the announcement via his verified Facebook page, stating: "According to the cabinet's decision, there will be a 10-day holiday during Eid-ul-Azha."
Earlier this year, during Eid-ul-Fitr, citizens enjoyed a 9-day break from March 28 to April 5. Initially, the government had announced a 5-day holiday, with an additional day added by executive order. The extended break also included the national holiday on March 26, marking Independence Day. Only March 27 (Thursday) was a working day in that span.
