Speaking at a post-budget press conference, Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed emphasised that the newly proposed budget avoids rhetorical promises and instead prioritises both public welfare and business development.
"This budget has been framed with a focus on being people-centric and business-friendly," he said. "We have worked within limited resources to meet extensive demands. While it's not exclusively business-focused, we've ensured strong public engagement."
Dr Ahmed added, "We are committed to the people. We aim to enhance public safety and social progress, which is why we've significantly increased allocations in the social sectors."
Addressing members of the media, he urged them to work with empathy and contribute to the country's advancement. "We hope to leave behind a meaningful blueprint that future policymakers can follow," he noted.
The press conference took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium and was organised by the Finance Division under the Ministry of Finance.
Other key attendees included Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin, Planning Adviser Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud, Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Power and Energy Adviser Faizul Kabir, and Cabinet Secretary Dr Sheikh Abdur Rashid.
