In the last 19 days, 94 children have died across the country displaying symptoms of measles, though the number of deaths laboratory-confirmed as measles stands at nine.
During the same period, 711 children have tested positive for the disease nationwide.
These statistics were released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a press release on Friday (April 3), providing a comprehensive overview of the current measles situation.
According to the report, 5,792 children have been hospitalized with suspected measles since March 15. Of these, 771 cases have been officially confirmed through testing.
The Dhaka division has reported the highest concentration of the outbreak, with 318 confirmed cases.

New Hospitalizations: 947 children were admitted with symptoms.
New Confirmed Cases: 42 children tested positive.
Regional Breakdown: Dhaka division recorded the highest with 18 new cases. Rajshahi followed with 8 cases. Khulna and Sylhet reported 5 each, Chittagong 4, and Barishal and Rangpur reported 1 case each. No new cases were detected in the Mymensingh division during this period.
In response to the escalating outbreak, the government is launching a special nationwide vaccination campaign starting this Sunday.
The program will initially target high-infection areas, providing vaccinations to children aged 6 months to 10 years.
