Collision Between Autorickshaw and Microbus Leaves 2 Dead in Mymensingh

Two people lost their lives and two others sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between a CNG-powered autorickshaw and a microbus in the Nandibari Bazar area on the Bhaluka-Gafargaon road in Mymensingh.

The accident took place on Friday afternoon.

The deceased have been identified as Md Lal Mia (32), son of Azgar Ali from Ward 1 of Bhaluka Municipality, and Rokeya Begum (48), wife of Surjat Ali from Ward 4 of the same area.

The injured are Josna Akhter (65), wife of Toimuddin from Ward 4, and Taslima (35), wife of Lal Mia from East Bhaluka. Both are currently undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

According to police and eyewitnesses, a black Hiace microbus was speeding along the Bhaluka-Gafargaon road when it collided head-on with a CNG autorickshaw approaching from the opposite direction near Nandibari Bazar. The impact left the autorickshaw mangled, seriously injuring all four passengers.

Local residents and fire service personnel rushed to the scene and took the injured to Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex. Two of the victims were declared dead upon arrival.

Bhaluka Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamsul Huda Khan confirmed the incident, stating that one victim died at the scene while the other passed away at the hospital. Both vehicles involved in the accident have been seized, and legal procedures are underway.
