Three people have died in a head-on collision between a truck and a microbus in Birganj, Dinajpur. Two of the victims died at the scene, while another succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital.
The accident occurred around 6:30 AM on Monday (May 19th) in the 25 Mile area of the upazila (sub-district).
The identities of two of the deceased have been confirmed. One is the microbus driver, Ariful Islam Manik, and the other is Delwar.
Four other people sustained serious injuries in the incident. They have been admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital. However, their names and identities are yet to be known.
Abdul Gafur, the acting officer-in-charge (OC) of Birganj Police Station, confirmed the incident and stated that highway police and fire service personnel are present at the scene conducting rescue operations.
