Valiant freedom fighter Nowsher Ali Mollah passed away on Saturday night while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital.
He was 82 years old. According to his family, he breathed his last at 9:25 pm on Saturday.
He left behind a large number of relatives, admirers and well-wishers to mourn his loss.
Nowsher Ali Mollah is widely respected for his courageous role during the 1971 Liberation War.
Beyond the battlefield, he was known for his dedication to history; his significant efforts in preserving rare wartime documents and leaflets have provided valuable resources for the Liberation War Museum, where many of his collections are currently archived.
His Namaz-e-Janaza was held on Sunday at 11 am at the Eastern Tower Jamme Mosque on New Eskaton Road.
His family members sought prayers from the nation for his departed soul and requested forgiveness for any shortcomings in his life.
He is set to be laid to rest with full honors at the Mirpur Shahid Buddhijibi Graveyard later today.
