Police are conducting drives at four clubs at Motijheel area in the capital. The clubs are Mohammedan Sporting Club, Arambagh Krira Shangha, Dilkusha Sporting Club and Victoria Sporting Club. The drives have begun in the afternoon.
Earlier on Thursday Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Shafiqul Islam said, casino owners and involved people will not be spared how influential they would be. They will be brought under law. No gambling will be allowed in the capital. RAB has begun drives and police also will conduct drives.
At that time he also said, I have got a list of one zone. Lists are being prepared for the other zones. The role of police will be the same like the drives are being conducted by RAB. Those who gamble in the casinos are also taking drugs. If casinos are stopped then drugs taking will be stopped.
