Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre. In 2018, she was diagnosed with 'high grade' cancer.
After undergoing treatment in New York, USA, Sonali is now cancer free. But at first stage of the treatment, the doctors told her - 'The chance of survival is only 30 percent.'
Recently, Sonali appeared as a guest on a podcast called 'Human of Bombay'. There she told the story of this difficult journey of her life.
The actress said the cancer was diagnosed during the shooting of a reality show. I wanted to know, how can I be cancer free? Because I thought cancer was a very common disease.
Sonali also said, "When I kept doing various tests, I realized it was not a common disease." My husband and the doctor's faces turned pale during the PET scan after the tests revealed cancer.
At that time, cancer cells had spread in the body, she said, "PET" scan reveals the location of cancer cells in your body as well as the extent of spread. Which can be seen in my 'PET' scan report. The cancer spread throughout my body in such a way that it looked like a Christmas tree. After receiving the report, Sonali's husband decided to take her abroad for treatment.
Sonali was angry with the doctors while taking cancer treatment. Explaining the reason for this, the actress said, I lose my temper listening to the doctors during the treatment.
Because the doctors said, I have only 30 percent chance of survival. How could doctors say this, I wondered. I asked them, how can I have cancer?
Sonali's body was completely destroyed by cancer treatment. Again it is formed. Later, Sonali realizes that what the doctors said was true. However, there are still many misconceptions about cancer in the society, so she thinks it is important to talk about it.
Incidentally, Sonali entered Bollywood in 1994 with the movie 'Aag'. Govinda was opposite her in the movie. Later, this actress won the hearts of the audience with her looks and acting skills.
