The court has granted bail in the case filed by businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud against actress Pori Moni, who is accused of beating, attempt to murder, vandalism and intimidation.

Pori Moni surrendered in the court of Dhaka on Tuesday (June 25) morning seeking bail to Senior Judicial Magistrate M. Saiful Islam. After the hearing, the court ordered her bail on a surety of Tk 1,000.

Pori Moni appeared in the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court of Dhaka at 10:15 am that day. She surrendered and applied for bail through her lawyer. Pori Moni's lawyer Nilanjana Rifat (Suravi) confirmed these facts.

Recently, the investigation officer of the case PBI Dhaka District Inspector Md. Monir Hossain filed a report in Dhaka's Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court stating that Pori Moni and her costume designer Junaid Bogdadi Jimmy also known as Jim found the allegations of beating and intimidation proved true. On April 18, Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate M. Saiful Islam's court issued summons to the two accused to appear in court on June 25.

On July 6, 2022, Nasir Uddin filed the case in court. In the statement of the case, it is said that Pori Moni and her accomplices are alcoholics. Taking advantage of the opportunity, they enter various famous clubs and drink alcohol and do not pay the price. Pori Moni threatened harassment by filing false cases with police officials she knew. On June 9, 2021, after 12 midnight, the accused entered Savar's Boat Club and used the washroom on the second floor.

It is also mentioned in the statement that they later sat inside the club and drank alcohol. It is stated that when the plaintiff and his associate Shah Shahidul Alam were leaving the club around 1.30 pm, Pori Moni purposely called the plaintiff Nasir Uddin and requested him to sit with them for some time.

At one stage Pori Moni tried to lure Nasiruddin through obscene gestures and pressured the plaintiff to give the parcel a bottle of Blue Label alcohol for free. As the plaintiff did not agree to do this, Pori Moni insulted the plaintiff. At one stage Pori Moni threw a serving glass at the plaintiff and also threw the mobile phone in her hands. Nasir Uddin injured in the head and chest. Pori Moni and her accomplices beat and threatened to kill Nasir Uddin.
