At least 12 university students were killed, and 19 others injured in a collision between a bus carrying university students and a truck in Brazil, a South American country.
The accident occurred on Thursday (February 20) in the southeastern city of Ribeirão Preto, located in São Paulo state.
According to a report by Reuters, the bus was carrying students from Franca University when it collided with a truck on the way, resulting in the tragic accident.
The injured were later rescued and taken to the hospital. Most of them returned home after receiving initial treatment. However, the truck driver was arrested while attempting to flee.
The state fire department reported on social media that 31 people were rescued from the accident, among whom 12 lost their lives.
