In a recent message shared on X, Lamichhane thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his warm wishes following the RSP’s resounding success in the national polls.

"RSP and our government will remain dedicated to fostering a relationship built on mutual respect and shared prosperity," Lamichhane stated, emphasizing that the party would prioritize "development diplomacy."

He further added, "We look forward to a partnership with India that scales new heights through cooperation in connectivity, cultural tourism, energy, and trade, ensuring a prosperous future for the people of both countries."

These remarks follow a warm telephone conversation between Prime Minister Modi and RSP leaders—Chairman Rabi Lamichhane and senior party leader Balendra Shah—earlier this week.

A Historic Shift in Nepali Politics

The RSP’s victory marks a significant turning point in Nepal's political landscape.

Contesting the March 5 elections, the party secured a dominant mandate in the 275-member House of Representatives, effectively challenging the traditional parties that have long held power.

Balendra Shah, the 35-year-old structural engineer and former Kathmandu mayor, is poised to become the youngest Prime Minister in Nepal’s parliamentary history.

Analysts note that the RSP’s "blue wave" reflects deep-seated voter frustration with corruption and political instability, marking a clear generational shift toward fresh leadership and accountability.

As the final counts conclude, the RSP is projected to secure an overwhelming majority, solidifying its mandate to implement its vision for good governance and economic reform across the Himalayan nation.
