India has increased its visa processing fee from 800 Taka to 1,500 Taka. The revised fee will take effect on August 10.
The announcement was made by the Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) in a press release and also published on their website.
According to the statement, the visa processing fee for applications submitted at Indian Visa Application Centres in Bangladesh will be revised to 1,500 Taka, effective from August 10.
This processing fee is a service charge imposed by IVAC for handling visa applications.
IVAC stated that this is the first time the visa processing fee has been revised since 2018, and the increase is necessary to maintain service quality and infrastructural improvements.
However, the Indian government's policy of not charging visa fees for citizens of Bangladesh remains unchanged, and Indian visas will continue to be free for all Bangladeshi nationals.
