Indian police have detained Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, along with other opposition members of parliament, during a protest in Delhi over the neutrality of the Election Commission.
The incident occurred on Monday morning in front of the Parliament building, according to a report from Indian news outlet NDTV.
Police stated that the protesters were removed to maintain law and order and to ensure traffic flow.
While being taken into custody, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi said, "This fight is not political. This fight is to save the constitution. This fight is for one person, one vote. We want a clear, pure voter list. The government is influencing the Election Commission, and their peaceful movement is being suppressed."
