Amid a week of joint U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran, Indian journalist Braj Mohan Singh has leveled serious allegations against the Israeli government, claiming officials are suppressing the true scale of casualties following Iran's retaliatory strikes.
The report, published by the news outlet The Current, details Singh's firsthand experiences during his recent assignment in Israel.
Hidden Casualties and Failed Warnings
According to Singh, the reality on the ground contradicts official narratives. He noted that Iranian missiles frequently impacted targets before air raid sirens could even be activated. Furthermore, he claimed that many Israelis were killed inside bunkers that had been designated as "safe zones" by the government.
"The government will tell you nothing," Singh stated, highlighting a strategic information blackout. He alleged that authorities have strictly limited access to hospitals where the deceased are being held, preventing journalists from verifying the death toll. "In many cases, we aren't even allowed to know exactly where an impact has occurred."
Media Restrictions and Infrastructure Damage
The journalist further asserted that Israeli authorities actively blocked the filming of destruction caused by Iranian strikes and placed significant limitations on media coverage to control the international perception of the conflict.
While Singh’s account paints a picture of significant internal damage and loss of life, the Israeli government has yet to release a detailed official casualty list or comment on the journalist's specific claims.
Context of the Escalation
The current flare-up began on February 28, when the U.S. and Israel launched joint operations against various Iranian installations. Iran responded with a massive barrage of ballistic missiles and drones targeting Israeli territory as well as U.S. bases located across the Gulf region.
