$2 Billion 'Blue Diamond' Draws Crowds in Abu Dhabi

An exhibition of the world's rarest diamonds is currently being held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Organized by Sotheby's, the exhibition features eight diamonds worth over 120 billion Bangladeshi Taka. The most talked-about is a 10.3-carat blue diamond named the "Mediterranean Blue," valued at over 20 billion Bangladeshi Taka.

People from all over the world are flocking to see the dazzling diamond exhibition. The two-day event, organized by Sotheby's, began on Tuesday (April 8th, local time) at the Bassam Freiha Art Foundation in Abu Dhabi.

The exhibition showcases a collection of eight diamonds worth over 120 billion Bangladeshi Taka. The highlight is the "Mediterranean Blue," a 10.3-carat blue diamond priced at over 20 billion Bangladeshi Taka.

Sotheby's has described this diamond as one of the most significant blue diamonds in the world, also noting its expert cut. The combined weight of the eight diamonds on display exceeds 700 carats.

Quig Bruning, Head of North America, Europe, and the Middle East for Sotheby's, stated, "These diamonds are not ordinary; each one is uniquely exceptional. There are many collectors in Abu Dhabi who are ready to buy diamonds of this quality and rarity. Therefore, considering the interest of diamond collectors and traders, this event has been organized here."

The exhibition will continue until April 9th. Following this, the "Mediterranean Blue" will be auctioned in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 13th. These rare gems are not only valuable but also a part of history. Their auction will not only fetch money but also recognition of their worth.
