Manobkantha acting editor Abu Bakar dies

Abu Bakar Chowdhury, the acting editor of Daily Manobkantha, died of heart attack early Tuesday. He was 56.

He breathed his last at 5:15am at Ibne Sina Hospital in the capital.

Family sources said Abu Bakar suffered a heart stroke at 4am at his residence. He was soon taken to the hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

The janaza of Abu Bakar will be held after Asr Prayers on the premises of Taqwa Mosque located adjacent to his house at Road 11 / A, 42 in Dhanmondi.

He was born in Green Road area of Dhaka on June 21, 1964.

Attaining his Masters degree in Management from Dhaka University, he started his journalism career in 1991 at Weekly Prattayan as the executive editor.

During his long professional career, he served at Weekly Khobor, Ajaker Kagoj, Amader Shomoy, Sakaler Khobor, Samakal.

Abu Bakar joined Manobkantha as a news editor in 2012 and took charge of acting editor in 2015. He was also made executive editor of the daily in 2017.
