Proposal for not taking PECE centrally this year

The Primary Education Completion (PEC) Examination of the current year may not be taken centrally due to coronavirus situation in the country. The evaluation of the students may be done by holding examinations in the schools- such proposals were sent to the Prime Minister.

The information was delivered by State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain on Wednesday.

He said that if the examinations are not held then merit based scholarships will not be given.

The state minister said, the primary and mass education ministry is preparing different directions for conducting lessons by keeping teachers and the students safe at the government primary schools. Wearing mask, keeping the hands clean and using thermometer will be made compulsory there. Everybody have to follow the directions.

Zakir Hossain said, more than 50 directions were prepared about health safety measures for protecting the students. Those proposals were sent to the Prime Minister. The decision will be taken from there.
