Franco Armani has retired from the Argentina national team. Armani has stepped aside from the Argentina national team after winning four trophies.

This 37-year-old goalkeeper stated that he spoke with Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni and with the goalkeeper coach Martín Tocalli about his decision, stating that his cycle is completed.

The Argentine played at the 2018 World Cup, taking over during the tournament, and was the goalkeeper at the 2019 Copa America. Armani saved a penalty against Paraguay at the 2019 Copa America which was an important moment in the Lionel Scaloni era.

With the Argentina national team, he was part of the team that won the 2022 World Cup, the 2021 and 2024 Copa’s America, and the 2022 Finalissima.
