Meanwhile, rumours have been circulating on social media claiming that Mashrafe has passed away. A viral photocard alleges that Mashrafe died in a car accident in Dubai.

Notably, the former Member of Parliament and ex-national team captain has not been seen in public since August 5, following the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government.
