Inter Milan have eliminated Bayern Munich from the Champions League after a thrilling 2-2 draw in the second leg of their quarter-final tie at the San Siro. Having secured a 2-1 victory in the first leg in Munich, the Italian side progressed to the semi-finals with a 4-3 aggregate score.

Despite being considered favorites at home, Inter were made to work hard by the German giants. The first three minutes saw both teams have efforts thwarted by the respective defenses. In the sixth minute, Bayern's Thomas Muller tested Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer with a low shot, which was saved.

Inter managed their first shot on target in the ninth minute, with Federico Dimarco's attempt from outside the box being stopped by Bayern goalkeeper Jonas Urbig. Bayern dominated possession for the remainder of the first half but failed to create any clear-cut opportunities, leading to a goalless first half.

Bayern broke the deadlock seven minutes into the second half through Harry Kane, leveling the aggregate score at 2-2. After the home side failed to clear a header, Leon Goretzka found the English striker in the box, who evaded a defender and slotted a low shot into the far corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance. It was Kane's 11th goal in this season's Champions League.

However, Bayern's lead was short-lived. Inter responded with two quick goals between the 58th and 61st minutes to take a 2-1 lead on the night and a 4-2 advantage on aggregate. Lautaro Martínez scored the first, heading the ball from a corner onto a Bayern defender's leg before firing a powerful shot into the net. This goal marked Martínez's fifth consecutive Champions League match with a goal, a first for an Inter player.

Three minutes later, Benjamin Pavard extended Inter's lead, heading home from a corner after Matteo Darmian's powerful shot from outside the box was cleared off the line from the initial corner.

Bayern pulled a goal back in the 76th minute to reignite the tie. Eric Dier headed in from a corner to make it 2-2 on the night.

The goal spurred Bayern on, and they piled pressure on Inter in search of the decisive goal. In the fifth minute of the six minutes of added time, the visitors had a golden opportunity, but Muller's header lacked power, allowing Sommer to make a crucial save and preserve Inter's lead.

In the dying moments, Kingsley Coman's shot flew over the crossbar, and the referee blew the final whistle, sparking jubilant scenes at the San Siro. Inter Milan have reached the Champions League semi-finals, where they will face Barcelona.
