Tunisia and Sweden faced off in a Group F match of the FIFA World Cup. The difference in FIFA rankings and overall strength was on full display on the pitch today, as Sweden kicked off their World Cup campaign in style with a convincing 5-1 victory over Tunisia.

Sweden, sitting 21 places ahead of Tunisia in the FIFA rankings, trailed in ball possession but remained far more lethal in attack. The European nation did not take long to break the deadlock, with Yasin Ayari putting Sweden ahead in just the seventh minute of the match.

The Swedes doubled their lead in the 30th minute when Liverpool striker Alexander Isak found the back of the net.

However, Tunisia managed to pull one back before the end of the first half, as Omar Rekik scored in the 43rd minute to bring his side back into the contest.

Nevertheless, Sweden restored their two-goal cushion in the second half. In the 60th minute, Isak capitalized on a mistake by a Tunisian defender and played a pass to Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres, who calmly slotted the ball home.

In the closing stages of the match, Mattias Svanberg put the game well out of Tunisia's reach, scoring just two minutes after coming off the bench. Deep into stoppage time, Ayari scored his second of the match and Sweden's fifth, sealing a resounding victory.

Sweden will next take on the Netherlands on June 20, while Tunisia will face Japan on June 21.
