DNA test is compulsory for rape case and the samples should be sent within 48 hours. The rape victim woman or child will be able to file case in any police station.
The High Court delivered the verdict following a writ filed challenging the legality of accepting complain 27 hours after the incident of rape of a young Garo women at Khilkhet in the capital in 2015.
High Court delivered the verdict on Sunday.
The verdict said, the High Court formulated 18 policies declaring DNA test for the rape victim compulsory. In the policy investigation for woman and child repression was made compulsory.
Earlier on April 12 a separate bench of the High Court delivered verdict declaring the Two Finger Test illegal for the rape victims.
In this regard Bangladesh Supreme Court lawyer Fauzia Karim Firoz said, this is a warning against filling false case. It will help the real victims.
