Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (March 14) asked all concerned to invent new jute goods and explore overseas markets to expedite the possibilities of building a developed and prosperous 'Sonar Bangladesh' by exporting the golden fibre abroad.
"Invent new jute products and explore new markets to boost export as there is a huge market for eco-friendly products at home and abroad," she said.
The Textiles and Jute Ministry organised the inaugural function at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) here coinciding with the National Jute Day.
The prime minister said this while inaugurating six jute mills and the Multipurpose Jute Product Fair-2024 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital on the occasion of the National Jute Day.
The prime minister said when many jute mills were unprofitable. We closed them down and gave the workers a fair share.
