Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that the body of Awami League Member of Parliament Anwarul Azim Anar from Jhenaidah-4 constituency in Kolkata, West Bengal, India has not been recovered yet. However, some people including the mastermind of the murder have been arrested.
He told reporters after a program at Dhaka University Senate building on Wednesday (May 22).
The foreign minister said that the killing of MP Anwarul Azim Anar is very sad, shocking and unintended. Calcutta police entered the flat where they believe he was killed. But the body was not found there. However, DB has arrested some people including the mastermind of the murder. Kolkata Police also arrested two people. Investigation is going on.
He said that the Ministry of Home Affairs will tell the details about this. We are looking through the High Commission. The matter is under investigation, the body has not been found yet. The home minister said it was a planned murder.
