Sonali Bank appoints new director replacing Matiur

National Board of Revenue (NBR) member Matiur Rahman has been removed from the board of directors of Sonali Bank.

Mohammad Abu Yousuf, additional secretary of the Finance Division under the Ministry of Finance, has been appointed to the post for three years.

The Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance issued a letter in this regard on Monday (June 24).

In the letter, It was requested to take necessary steps including obtaining approval of Bangladesh Bank to appoint Mohammad Abu Yusuf, additional secretary of the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance, as a director on the board of directors of Sonali Bank PLC for three years from the date of joining as per the provisions of the Companies Act, 1991.

Earlier, the Financial Institutions Division relieved Matiur Rahman from the post of director of the state-owned Sonali Bank. On Sunday (June 23), he was removed from the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and attached to the Internal Resources Division.
