The Ministry of Education has taken a final decision on the 'Story of Sharifa'. 'Similarities and Differences between People'- a chapter in this year's class seven social science textbook focuses on different communities within society and what ties them together, along with the differences and similarities between them.

Based on the report and recommendations given by the expert committee, the ministry has decided to exclude the story from the text book.

Recently, the Ministry of Education officially informed about this instruction by writing to NCTB.

According to the letter, in view of the report given by the expert committee, it has been decided to exclude Sharifa's story from the textbook of class VII. At the same time, gender experts can be sought to add another story there. Action should be taken to add new stories instead of stories.

NCTB Chairman (Routine Duties) confirmed the matter. Moshiuzzaman said, we have received the letter from the Ministry of Education. Necessary action will be taken in that context.

Earlier, various controversies started after the students got their new books on hands this year. Among them, some students objected to the 'Story of Sharifa' in the 'Similarities and Differences between Human', from a social science book from class VII. Basically teacher Asif Mahtab tore out the pages of the story from the book in an event and urged others to do the same.

The video of Mahtab went viral instantly. Fierce discussion-criticism began. To deal with the situation, the Ministry of Education made an expert committee on 'Sharifa's story'.
