Students blocking roads and protesting across the country to demand cancellation of quota in government jobs. Common people have to suffer in this movement. In particular, Dhaka has become virtually immobilized in the all-out 'Bangla Blockade' program. Business has also been affected. DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman gave a stern warning to the agitators in this situation.

On Friday (July 12) at noon in Segunbagicha of the capital, he told the journalists that any activities related to violation of law and order will not be tolerated.

Habibur Rahman also said that the issue of quota system in government jobs is decided from the court. Everyone should have faith in the court. There is an obligation to comply with court orders. Everyone should do that.

Meanwhile, students blocked important roads in different parts of the country, including Dhaka, on Thursday, ignoring the police. At this time, protesters clashed with the police in several places outside Dhaka. Today (Friday) the agitating students will protest in campuses across the country protesting this incident.

Movement coordinator Nahid Hasan said, we will request all university administrations to ensure the safety of students.

Note that till 2018 there was 56 percent quota in government jobs in Bangladesh. Among these, 30 percent freedom fighter quota, 10 percent women quota, 10 percent quota for residents of backward districts, 5 percent for people from minority ethnic groups and 1 percent for disabled people were reserved.

That year, there were large protests in various educational institutions of the country, including Dhaka University, demanding quota reform. The agitators demanded to bring down the quota system from 56 percent to 10 percent by reforming it. Later, on October 4 of that year, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a circular on the abolition of the quota system.
