Zafar Iqbal banned from SUST campus for lifetime
The students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in Sylhet have banned Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal for lifetime. The unwanted announcements were from the students including Zafar Iqbal for stood against the students.
The students announced this in a notice sent to the media on Wednesday (July 17). Asadullah Al-Galib, the coordinator of SUST's quota reform movement, confirmed this information.
Recently, in view of the slogans of the students in the quota reform movement, Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal responded on his website. In it he wrote, 'Dhaka University is my university, my favorite university. But I think I will never want to go to this university again. If I look at the students, I will think that they might be those Razakars.'
He also wrote, 'Only a few days I can live, I don't want to see the face of any Razakar. There is only one life. Why should I see Razakars again in that life?'
Common students have become angry with such reaction of Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal about the ongoing quota movement. Criticism is going on nationwide. At the same time, all the books of this popular writer have been called to be boycotted by the common students.
Meanwhile, since Wednesday (July 17) morning, Zafar Iqbal is not available on Rokomari.com. This online book-selling platform has made all Zafar Iqbal books 'not available' from their website.
Not only Rokomari but also Pragati Bookstore announced not to sell Muhammad Zafar Iqbal's books. Earlier, on this same issue 'Books of Bengal', the book-buying platform of Bangladesh and West Bengal, has announced not to sell Muhammad Zafar Iqbal's books.
